Elviria Homes was set up as our name suggests to concentrate on property for sale and to rent in the Elviria area.

We ourselves live in Elviria, so we really do know the area. Our two children also go to the local primary school.

Unlike many bigger estate-agents, we can provide an honest and personal service. We don't employ any commission-only sales-people, and we don't like the high pressure tactics some of them employ. I know the sort of people I would prefer to deal with when buying a house, and that's the sort of person I am trying to be.

We chose to live in Elviria and want to see it remain a great place to live and bring up a family. If you've got kids, I can help you choose a school and get your children registered. As you'd expect from Spain, there is a fair bit of red tape, but it's not too bad. As long as your attitude is right, you will usually find that the locals can be helpful if you try to help them. Shouting at them when they don't speak English is obviously not going to help!

When we first arrived in the Costa, I went for several interviews at local real-estate firms, and was shocked at the attitudes of the people there. They were quite happy to start telling me about tactics they frequently used to 'get the client's credit card out'. And this isn't neccesairly the smaller agents. When you live here, you will see weekly newspaper adverts by the bif real-estate chains (the same ones that advertise extensively in the UK), recruiting for high-pressure salespeople, or 'closers' as they are often known. They have a high turnover of staff, and focus on money, not their clients.

I don't work like that. I have extensive knowledge of the Elviria and surrounding areas due to being based and bringing up a family here. I'm keen to help you in any home-related subject if I can. If it's not my area of expertise, I can often point you in the direction of a reliable person who can help you. I will offer genuine assistance in helping you to find your new home in Elviria. If you decide that Elviria is not for you, then I'll be happy to recommend a genuine agent in another area who can help you.
